A new book edited by Brouria Bitton-Ashkelony and Lorenzo Perrone looks very interesting: "Between Personal and Institutional Religion: Self, Doctrine, and Practice in Late Antique Eastern Christianity". It is said to explore (what is always relevant) "the expression of the self, the role of history and memory in the construction of identity, and the modification of the theological discourse".
I'll be back when I get a hold of it.
